Artists Council 2023 “Fun + Games” Art Show and Sale

In-Person at the Artists Center at the Galen

The Artists Council continues to offer our member artists new and exciting opportunities for in-person displays of their work. This latest show -- “Fun + Games” -- finishes out our season before the summer break. All mediums are allowed. Please read this prospectus carefully for important instructions.


TO ENTER THE “Fun + Games” Show & Sale:

  • Submit to this show HERE.

  • Up to 2 artworks per applicant will be accepted into the show; second piece is optional.

  • Entry Fee for this in-person exhibit: $35 for 1 piece and $25 for the second piece.  Only one entry form is allowed per artist, so if you plan to enter two artworks, please enter both in the form before paying the fee.

  • Pay with a major credit card via the online application form accessible from the link above.

  • The show is non-juried, but only the first 100 artworks will be accepted.



  • Submission Deadline for "Fun + Games” Show & Sale: Friday, May 5, at 4 pm

  • NOTE:  The submission process will close prior to May 5, if we reach the maximum number of 100 entries, so enter as soon as you can!

  • Drop Off: Monday, May 22, 9 am to 11 am, at the Artists Center at the Galen. Please be punctual as the building closes promptly at 11am. (Please note that the take-in day has changed to a Monday!)

  • Show Open:  Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 10 am (regular gallery hours)

  • Casual Opening Reception:  Thursday, May 25, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm

  • Show Close: Sunday, June 25, 2023, 4 pm (There will be a closing social event for the season during the pick-up time from 2 to 4 pm.)

  • Pick Up of Unsold Works: Sunday, June 25, 2023, 2 pm to 4 pm (please be on time, because the building closes at 4 pm)

  • Closing Social Event: Sunday, June 25, 2 pm to 4 pm during pick up (Details TBD)



You must be a member of the Artists Council to enter. 

  • If you wish to join as a new member, go to

  • If you need to or renew your membership, go to to log into the Member Portal, and select “Renew My Membership.”


Artwork must:

  • Be no larger than 48 in (wide) x 60 in (high) (framed).

  • Minimum size 14 in x 14 in (framed)

  • Be ready for hanging or installation, professionally presented, and meet the following additional requirements.


Other Requirements:

  • All works on paper must be protected by glass or Plexiglass.

  • Unframed canvas must be gallery wrapped.

  • Works on canvas or other materials must be finished on the edges.

  • Two-dimensional artwork must be wired for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers or ceiling mounts will be accepted.

  • Three-dimensional artwork cannot exceed 150 pounds or 72” high by 48” wide by 48” deep and must be delivered ready for display.

  • Works that do not meet these size requirements may be rejected on intake.

  • Artwork is limited to 2- and 3-dimensional work. No video work can be accepted at this time.

  • Please make sure that your artwork is clean and wiped down before dropping it off; artwork that is dirty will not be allowed into the show!

  • No refund of fees will be made after submission.

  • You can make changes to your entry up to the submission deadline. However, this option shuts down at the close of the submission period, or when we receive 100 submissions.  A link allowing you to update your entry will be included in your confirmation email.

  • Artwork will hang during the entirety of the show unless sold during the show.



  • Artwork must be delivered to the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert by the artist or his/her agent.

  • Artwork shipped to the Artists Center will not be accepted.

  • The Artists Council cannot provide special handling for artwork.


Pricing, Sales, and Pick Up:

  • Artwork must be available for sale.

  • Sale price must be between $300 and $8,000.

  • The artwork’s price MUST be the same as on your website or otherwise promoted.

  • Proceeds from sale (excluding sales tax) will be split 50-50 between the artist and the Artists Council (to support programs and operations).

  • Buyers are responsible for picking up the artwork they purchase and for any shipping and all associated expenses for artwork after purchase. Sales tax will be added to the sale price and paid by the buyer. If the buyer is not in town on June 25, 2023, then the artist will be expected to assist with pick up and shipment/delivery.

  • The artist or his/her agent is responsible for picking up or shipping unsold works.



  • By submitting to the Artists Council “Fun + Games” Show & Sale, the artist acknowledges and agrees that he/she:

  • Has read and agrees to all conditions of entry.

  • Releases rights for use of images of his/her artwork in any Artists Council promotional and marketing materials.

  • Is responsible for insurance for his/her artwork. Neither the Artists Council and its officers, directors, staff, or volunteers; nor anyone connected with the “Fun + Games” Show & Sale will be responsible for loss or damage to artwork, however caused. All exhibiting artists will be required to sign a liability waiver on-line at the time of submission.

  • The Artists Council reserves the right to refuse any artwork that is not of acceptable quality, does not match the submitted entry image, or does not meet framing or finishing criteria, or any other requirements stated above.
