Artists Council 2024 “Wrap it Up” Show & Sale

Dear Artist Members,
For our second Holiday show, we are focusing again on the many seasonal shoppers, making sure they have a wide selection of easily transportable art to purchase. We encourage glass work, sculpture, and of course all wall art, as outlined and specified in the prospectus guidelines below. Let’s have customers “Wrap it Up” and enjoy your wonderful and diverse artwork.
This is a Member Show, and all are welcome to enter – please read carefully!

One artwork per applicant will be accepted into the show.

Entry fee for this in-person show: $45
-
Pay with a major credit card via the online application form accessible from the link above.

The show is non-juried, but only the first 100 artworks (wall-hangings) and 30 3D works (sculptures on pedestals) submitted will be accepted. We will notify you if and when the cut off is approaching before the submission deadline.
IMPORTANT DATES:

Submission Deadline: Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 4 pm

Drop Off: Monday, December 9, 2024, 9 am to 11 am, at the Artists Center in Palm Desert

Show Opens: Wednesday, December 11, 2024, 10 am

Opening Reception: Thursday, December 12, 2024, 4 to 6 pm

Show Closes: Sunday, January 12, 2025, 4 pm

Pick Up of Unsold Works: Sunday, January 12, 2025, 2 pm to 4 pm
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
You must be a member of the Artists Council to enter. You will be able to join as a member, or renew an expired membership, in the application form (see the link above).
Artwork must be:

Wall-hung work must be no larger than 72” high x 48” wide, and no smaller than 12” x 12”.

Three-dimensional artwork cannot exceed 150 pounds or 72” high by 36” wide, by 36” deep, and must be delivered ready for display.

Works that do not meet these size requirements may be rejected on intake.

Artwork is limited to 2- and 3-dimensional work in any media. No video work can be accepted at this time.

If AI (Artificial Intelligence) was used in the creation of your artwork, you must indicate it and it will be included on the label.

Unframed canvas must be gallery wrapped, meaning the depth of the canvas must be 1 ½ inches. A ¾-inch canvas, unless framed, is not acceptable.

Works on canvas or other materials must be finished on the edges.

Make sure your work is clean and wiped down before dropping it off.

You can make changes to your entry up to the submission deadline via your submission confirmation email. However, this option shuts down at the close of the submission period, even if it closes early if we hit the show’s capacity.

All work must be ready for hanging or installation and professionally presented.
Additional Requirements:

Artwork must be wired for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers or ceiling mounts will be accepted.

No fees will be refunded after submission.

Artwork cannot have been on display at the Artists Center in a previous show.

Artwork will hang during the entirety of the show, unless it is sold and buyer can take it with him/her at the time of purchase.
Drop Off:
-
Artwork must be delivered to the Artists Center in Palm Desert by the artist or his/her agent.

Artwork shipped to the Artists Center will not be accepted.

The Artists Council cannot provide special handling for artwork.
Pricing, Sales, and Pick Up:

Artwork must be available for sale.

Sale price must be between $200 and $5,000 (for this Holiday Season only).

The artwork’s price must be the same as on your website or as otherwise promoted.

Proceeds from any sale (excluding sales tax) will be split 50-50 between the artist and the Artists Council (to support programs and operations).

Buyers are responsible for picking up the artwork they purchase and for any shipping and all associated expenses for artwork after purchase. Sales tax will be added to the sale price and paid by the buyer. If the buyer is not in town to pick up their purchase on Sunday, January 12, 2025, between 2 and 4pm, the artist will be expected to assist with pick up and shipment/delivery.

The artist or his/her agent is responsible for picking up or shipping unsold works.

Any unclaimed works will be held for a maximum of 30 days. Storage space is limited and unsecure.

After 30 days, any unclaimed artwork will become the property of the Artists Council and will be either sold or donated to charity. If sold, 100% of the sale price will go to support the activities of the Artists Council.
LEGAL AGREEMENT
By submitting to the Artists Council’s “Wrap it Up” Show & Sale, the artist acknowledges and agrees that he/she:

Has read and agrees to all conditions of entry.

Releases rights for use of images of his/her artwork in any Artists Council promotional and marketing materials.

Is responsible for insurance for his/her artwork. Neither the Artists Council and its officers, directors, staff, or volunteers; nor anyone connected with the “Wrap it Up” Show & Sale; will be responsible for loss or damage to artwork, however caused. All exhibiting artists will be required to sign a liability waiver at the time of submission (online).

The Artists Council reserves the right to refuse any artwork that is not of acceptable quality, does not match the submitted entry image, or does not meet framing or finishing criteria, or any other requirements stated above.
