The Artists Council is pleased to announce 

SUSAN MASLEY THOMAS as the 2026–2027 Artists Council Creative Fellow.

 

Through this fellowship, Susan will deepen her artistic practice, explore creative growth, and share her process with the community -- serving as an ambassador for the arts and inspiring others through her work.

Susan is an abstract artist and self-taught painter whose expressive works on canvas,
board, and aluminum reflect profound recovery, gratitude, and creative transformation
following a life-altering accident. Having studied in the State of Washington and Southern

France, she brings a diverse worldview to her contemporary practice. Her radiant, confident
works have earned recognition in a dozen juried exhibitions, and she sold 43 paintings
within her first two years as an emerging artist.
