The Artists Council, now in its sixth year as an independent organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit, promotes the art and artists of the Coachella Valley and beyond through our mission: Elevating artists through exhibitions, professional development, and community engagement. We do this by offering a robust program of exhibitions, art and business-of-art classes, workshops, lectures, critiques, a fellowship program, community outreach programs, and social gatherings.

1) Artists Council Facilities Coordinator

We are seeking an on-site Facilities Coordinator to help us operate the Artists Center located at 72567 Hwy 111, Palm Desert, California.  

Reporting to:
Operations Manager. The hourly position (starting pay is $22 per hour) is approximately 30 hours per week, from Wednesday through Sunday and on additional days as needed.

Responsibilities:
This role supports the operation of the Artists Center. The building is open to the public five days a week, Wed through Sun, from 10am - 4pm. The Facilities Coordinator will need to be on-site for assigned days from 9:45 am to 4:15 pm. Occasionally, the Coordinator will be asked to assist during other days and hours when there are special events in the building and when needed.

Please note: This position requires physical stamina to help set up tables and chairs for events and classes. You must be comfortable with climbing a ladder and other building-related tasks.

2) Artists Council Operations Assistant

The Artists Council is also seeking a dedicated and highly organized Operations Assistant to support the Operations Manager and oversee the daily functions of the Artists Council at the Artists Center in Palm Desert.

 

Reporting to:  
Operations Manager.  This is a new, paid part-time position (30-plus hours per week at $22 per hour) that plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and a welcoming environment for our artists, members, and visitors. 
 

Skills required:
We are looking for someone who has good organizational and administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism, plus willingness to learn specific programs and software as utilized by the Artists Council.  He/she must be available to work on-site at the Artists Center on Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, with occasional additional hours for special events. The ideal candidate brings a collaborative, positive approach to working with staff, artist members, volunteers, and the general public.
