Dear Art Teacher,


We hope you had a wonderful holiday break. We are so excited that the 2023 Young Artists Exhibition, funded by La Quinta Arts Foundation, is about to begin!


Online submissions will open at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, January 30 and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, February 6. As a reminder, each school may submit up to 25 works that address the exhibition theme TRUTH. Please refer to the prospectus for detailed information about the exhibition.


Once the submission period ends, exhibition jurors will begin making their selections. All teachers will be notified via email on Wednesday, February 22 which works have been accepted into the Young Artists Exhibition. Accepted artworks will need to be brought to the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert on Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Information about this process will be shared in a separate email.


We invite you all to join us at the Artists Council Young Artists Exhibition opening reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, April 29 at the Artists Center at the Galen. All exhibiting students will receive a Certificate of Recognition, select students will be recognized for additional awards, and all participating teachers will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Artists Council. In addition, look for a FREE Community Sunday before the exhibition. We will provide information about the events when it gets closer.

There you can review the requirements for making your submissions to the exhibition.

Then click on this link for the online submission form:


For each work submitted please have ready and include:


• Student’s First Name

• Student’s Last Name

• Student’s Grade Level

• Title

• Medium

• Artist’s Statement (up to 3 sentences)

• Dimensions

• School: Select your school from the drop-down menu

• Teacher: Please list your first and last name as this will be included on individual student artwork labels

• Teacher email address: This will be used to confirm your submission and for your Artists Council membership


All submissions must include a high-quality .jpeg image, at least 150 dpi., no larger than 5MB.

• For all 2D works, please attach one (1) image

• For all 3D works, please attach up to two (2) images

• For Video works, please attach the .mp4 file, no longer than 3 minutes running time


Please note:  While teachers have the option of adding all of their students’ entries in one go, you do not need to do so. You can submit multiple times (say, 5 batches of 5 artists each for a total of 25). In addition, if you have entered a number of entries and encounter a problem (a missing file, for example), you can click SAVE instead of SUBMIT; the system will save everything you have entered up to that point, and it will give you a link which you can email to yourself. The link can be used to return to the form at a later time to continue the entering process. Once the form is completed, you can click SUBMIT. (Saved entries will not be valid if they are not finished and submitted later on.)
