Wildflower Tangle - Weaving Positive and Negative in Acrylics
A 2-Day Virtual Workshop with Linda Kemp
May 14 & 15, 2021, from 10 am - 1:30 pm each day
$185 total for both days
All Skill Levels Welcome!
Weave together patterns of wild asters and yellow trefoil, tangled branches, and colorful foliage as we combine negative and positive painting techniques. In this all-new program, you will establish elegant, mysterious passages and delicate transitions in your artwork -- the secret is in the layering of transparent and opaque colors, lights and darks! Active brushwork, use of line and one-stroke painting techniques will be explored.
This is a 2-day workshop with internationally recognized artist Linda Kemp with 3 hours of daily instruction with a break midway through. The focus of this Acrylics class is working with negative painting utilizing both the positive and negative shapes within a composition. It is ideal for all skill levels.
Each day begins with a welcome and overview of the schedule, program, and objectives. Demonstrations are prepared ahead of time, using professional quality recording equipment and editing tools offering great lighting, focus, sound, and output. You will have a better-than-front-row seat! All videos are available afterwards on Vimeo. You will receive a private link so you can watch for 30 days. These links are available only to the students in this workshop. Even if your internet is uncooperative on the day of the workshop, you can watch the demonstration as often as you want and when your connection is good.
In addition to the demonstrations, all of the workshop lessons, teaching visuals, examples, product explanations, etc., are presented through a live Keynote presentation. Questions are monitored and answered live. There will be lots of Q & A time scheduled throughout the day.
Student painting time is part of the program. You are welcome to check in with Linda for guidance during painting time.
At the end of each day there will be time for questions and concerns. See EventBrite via the link above for more information, including the supply list.
