Artists Council 2022 “Homage to Collage” POP-UP Show and Sale
In-Person at the Artists Center at the Galen

May 18 through June 26, 2022
 

 TO ENTER THE “HOMAGE TO COLLAGE” POP-UP SHOW AND SALE:

  • The entry period for this POP-UP show has ended.

  • Up to 2 artworks per applicant will be accepted into the show; second piece is optional.

  • Entry Fee for this in-person exhibit: $35 for 1 piece and $25 for the second entry.

  • Pay with a major credit card via the online application form accessible from the link above.

  • The show is non-juried, but only the first 100 artworks will be accepted.

 
IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Submission Deadline for the “Homage to Collage” Pop Up Show and Sale: Wednesday, April 20, at midnight

  • NOTE:  The submission process will close prior to April 20 if we reach the maximum number of 100 entries, so enter as soon as you can!

  • Drop Off: Monday, May 16, 9 am to 11 am, at the Artists Center at the Galen

  • Show Open:  Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 10 am (regular gallery hours; no opening reception)

  • Show Close: Sunday, June 26, 2022

  • Pick Up of Unsold Works: Sunday, June 26, 2022, 2 pm to 4 pm (please note the new day and time and be on time, because the building closes at 4 pm)

 
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
You must be a member of the Artists Council to enter.  If you wish to join or renew your membership, please do so first by clicking here.
 
Artwork must:

  • Be no larger than 36 in x 36 in (framed).

  • Be ready for hanging or installation, professionally presented, and meet the following additional requirements.

 
Other Requirements:

  • All works on paper must be protected by glass or Plexiglass.

  • Unframed canvas must be gallery wrapped.

  • Works on canvas or other materials must be finished on the edges.

  • Two-dimensional artwork must be wired for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers or ceiling mounts will be accepted.

  • Images of submitted artwork should follow our image guidelines, as posted on the Artists Council website here.

  • No refund of fees will be made after submission.

  • No changes to entry details allowed after submission. (Please proof your entry details carefully!)

  • Artwork will hang during the entirety of the show.

 
Delivery:

  • Artwork must be delivered to the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert by the artist or his/her agent.

  • Artwork shipped to the Artists Center will not be accepted.

  • The Artists Council cannot provide special handling for artwork.

Pricing, Sales, and Pick Up:

  • Artwork must be available for sale.

  • Sale price must be between $300 and $8,000. Please note: No changes to the sale price allowed after submission.

  • The artwork’s price must be the same as on your website or as otherwise promoted.

  • Proceeds from sale (excluding sales tax) will be split 50-50 between the artist and the Artists Council (to support programs and operations).

  • Buyers are responsible for picking up the artwork they purchase and for any shipping and all associated expenses for artwork after purchase. Sales tax will be added to the sale price and paid by the buyer. If the buyer is not in town on June 26, 2022, then the artist will be expected to assist with pick up and shipment/delivery

  • The artist or his/her agent is responsible for picking up or shipping unsold works.

LEGAL AGREEMENT:

  • By submitting to the Artists Council “Homage to Collage” POP-UP Show and Sale, the artist acknowledges and agrees that he/she:

  • Has read and agrees to all conditions of entry.

  • Releases rights for use of images of his/her artwork in any Artists Council promotional and marketing materials.

  • Is responsible for insurance for his/her artwork. Neither the Artists Council and its officers, directors, staff, or volunteers; nor anyone connected with the “Homage to Collage” POP-UP Show and Sale will be responsible for loss or damage to artwork, however caused. All exhibiting artists will be required to sign a liability waiver at the time of artwork drop-off.

  • The Artists Council reserves the right to refuse any artwork that is not of acceptable quality, does not match the submitted entry image, or does not meet framing or finishing criteria, or any other requirements stated above.
